The Fall Leadership Meeting is an opportunity for pipeline employees to network with their peers while learning about the latest federal legislative and regulatory trends. The meeting is always held in Washington DC and provides attendees with a chance to visit with regulators while in town.

A formal agenda will be distributed as we get closer to the meeting date. Topics will include:
• The oil pipeline rate index
• PHMSA regulation
• Pipeline safety reauthorization
• Lessons from recent incidents
• The meaning of the mid-term elections
• Guest speakers invited from FERC, PHMSA, and Congress
• Promoting a culture of safety

Reception
The reception on Tuesday evening will be primarily for our members and their guests. This will be a wonderful opportunity to network with your peers and “catch-up” in a relaxed social setting. Selected government officials and staff will be invited.

General Hotel Information:

The Westin Grand Hotel will be our location again this year. The address is 2350 M Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20037. The hotel is located in the West End area and only a five minute walk from Georgetown. I encourage you to make your reservations with the Westin now - the Association has a financial commitment to the hotel for a block of rooms and the deadline is Saturday, October 9.

To make your reservation, call 800-228-3000 and identify yourself as an attendee of the Association of Oil Pipe Line’s Fall Meeting to obtain the special rate of $219 for a standard room. Reservation may also be made online at http://www.starwoodmeeting.com/StarGroupsWeb/res?id=1008252921&key=13416. All room rates are subject to the District of Columbia 14.5% sales tax. If you have trouble with the hotel’s reservation service about the rate, please contact Heather Keith (hkeith@aopl.org or 202-292-4507) and she will assist you. The formal cut-off date for room reservations at the group rate is Saturday, October 9.

The hotel is located approximately four blocks from the Foggy Bottom/GWU Metro Station. Ground transportation is available at all airports by taxis. Each airport also offers shuttle van service located in the ground transportation area. The hotel is about 20 minutes from Reagan National, or about one hour from either Dulles or Baltimore-Washington airports.
