The Association of Oil Pipe Lines (AOPL) is sponsoring training courses on the FERC Form 6 and Page 700. Come join the growing group of individuals and companies who are interested in obtaining a more thorough and detailed understanding of the FERC Form 6 requirements and preparation, as well as the theory and purpose behind the Page 700. Space is limited for this conference.

Thursday, February 20, 2014 is tailored for staff and managers who are directly responsible for the preparation of FERC Form 6, exclusive of Page 700. The instructors will take you page-by-page through the FERC Form 6. The course will help clarify issues, explain proper work paper documentation, and define terms used on the Form. Discussion will be encouraged on the wide range of issues to be addressed by conference presenters. This is considered to be an intermediate level course, and will be a full-day session. Those at a beginner or advanced level are welcome to attend.

Friday, February 21, 2014 is tailored for staff and managers who are directly responsible for the Page 700 data. This session will address the theory and definitions behind Page 700. Line item calculations are not within the scope of this section of the seminar. This is considered to be an intermediate level course, and will be a half-day session. Those at a beginner or advanced level are welcome to attend.

Presenters - All the presenters work with, or are consultants to, oil pipeline companies who have experience with FERC Form 6 filings.

Course Topics - Course topics will cover all aspects of the Form 6, including the general information statements and notes to the financial statements. Detailed presentations will be made on the following subjects: property and depreciation; taxes; equity; schedules on company affiliates; plant statistical data and the Form 6 validation checklist. On Day 2, participants will study Page 700 in-depth and review a FERC Opinion 154-B cost of service filing example.

On February 20 2014, the registration fee includes breakfast, lunch, two breaks and an evening networking reception. On February 21, 2014, the registration fee includes breakfast.

Who Should Attend:

These courses are open to all oil pipeline company employees and/or their Form 6 and Page 700 service provider. Attendees must have an affiliation with an oil pipeline company, either as a direct employee or as a consultant.

Meeting Attire:

Business casual attire is appropriate for both presenters and registrants. This is typically comparable to golf shirts and slacks for men and similar for women. It is usually very cool in the meeting rooms, so bring a sweater for the meetings.

Cancellation and Other Policies:

Should anyone need to cancel their participation, please contact Heather Keith at AOPL by February 11, 2014; otherwise registration fees will be forfeited. If you cancel prior to February 11, you will receive a refund less a $25 administrative fee. There will be no refund for cancellations after February 11, 2014, however you may send a substitute in your place permitted you notify AOPL of the substitution.

Learning Objectives
As a result of attending this conference, participants should be able to understand and prepare FERC Form 6, and learn the industry standards related to proper documentation of the FERC Form 6. As a result of attendance, conference participants should be able to recognize the related accounting, legal, and economics issues important to the oil pipeline industry in preparing the FERC Form 6 document.

Prerequisite Experience and Education
Courses include presentations at the intermediate level. Those at a beginner or advanced level are welcome to attend. Basic-level courses require no prior experience and only a rudimentary knowledge of the topic. Intermediate-level courses target participants with one to three (1-3) years of experience, ideally within the regulated energy transportation industry, and a working knowledge of financial or regulatory issues. Advanced-level courses target participants with three (3) or more years of relevant experience. None of the courses require advance preparation.

The Association of Oil Pipe Lines is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. There are no prerequisites or advance preparation in terms of experience or education to attend this course. This course is presented in a group-live format. The program level is Overview. The NASBA CPE Fields of Study is Specialized Knowledge and Applications. The total CPE credits for February 20, 2014 is 6 hours and 3 hours for February 21, 2014 provided you attend the entire course each day.

Your credits will be calculated based upon your attendance as documented in the CPE attendance form and attested to by you. In accordance with the standards of the National Registry of CPE Sponsors, CPE credits will be granted based on a 50-minute hour. General remarks, business meeting breaks, lunch, etc. were not included in the computation of credit hours. The AOPL Coordinator will provide you with a Certificate of Completion based upon the attestation information provided in the CPE attendance form. If you fail to follow the procedures for filing this form on-site, there will be no subsequent ability to be awarded CPE credits for the courses. This form must be submitted to the on-site AOPL Coordinator upon your departure from the Conference.

We have registered with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy as a CPE sponsor. This registration does not constitute an endorsement by the Board as to the quality of our CPE program. The Association of Oil Pipe Lineís Texas CPE Sponsor Number is 003466. This Registration is approved until April 30, 2014.

The training sessions will be held at the JW Marriott Houston. The hotel is offering a group rate for attendees of $219 (plus state and local taxes). Hotel reservations must be made directly by you.
