The Fall Leadership Meeting is an opportunity for AOPL member company pipeline employees to network with their peers while learning about the latest federal legislative and regulatory trends. The meeting is always held in Washington, DC and provides attendees with a chance to visit with regulators while in town. This event is for AOPL members only.

The meeting will begin on Thursday, November 14 at 1:00 p.m., and continue on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Below is a brief overview of events. A more detailed schedule will be sent out closer to the meeting.

• PHMSA regulation, including future proposals on integrity verification and integrity management
• FERC regulation and advocacy
• Pipeline safety performance improvement
• Strategic plans for AOPL and the API-AOPL Environment and Safety Initiative
• AOPL-API communications
• AOPL budget

Guest speakers are:
PHMSA Administrator Cynthia Quarterman and Associate Administrator Jeff Wiese
FERC Commissioner (invited)
Linda Stuntz of Stuntz, Davis & Staffier

Elections for:
AOPL Executive Committee
Three AOPL Board positions

Reception
The reception on Thursday evening will be primarily for our members and their guests. This will be a wonderful opportunity to network with your peers and “catch-up” in a relaxed social setting. Selected government officials and staff will be invited.

Guests
All attendees' guest/companions are welcome to attend the Thursday evening reception. We have not yet planned any activities for guests, but if there is interest we would be happy to arrange a guided tour of the Capitol and some other activities. To visit the White House, you will need to contact a Congressional office directly. The hotel also has a concierge service to assist in planning activities and obtaining tickets. Please check out www.washingtonian.com for information on restaurants, museums, theaters and current happenings in D.C.

General Hotel Information:

The Grand Hyatt Washington will be our location this year. The address is 1000 H Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001. The hotel is located in the Penn Quarter area of downtown DC and has Metro access in the building. I encourage you to make your reservations with the Grand Hyatt now - the Association has a financial commitment to the hotel for a block of rooms and the deadline is Wednesday, October 16.

To make your reservation, call 800-233-1234 and identify yourself as an attendee of the Association of Oil Pipe Line’s Fall Meeting to obtain the special rate of $249 for a standard room. Reservations may also be made online at https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do?mode=welcome_ei_new&eventID=10588416. All room rates are subject to the District of Columbia 14.5% sales tax. If you have trouble with the hotel’s reservation service about the rate, please contact Heather Keith (hkeith@aopl.org or 202-292-4507) and she will assist you. The formal cut-off date for room reservations at the group rate is Wednesday, October 16.

The hotel is located at the Metro Center Station, follow 11th Street exit to hotel lobby. Ground transportation is available at all airports by taxis. Each airport also offers shuttle van service located in the ground transportation area. The hotel is about 20 minutes from Reagan National, or about one hour from either Dulles or Baltimore-Washington airports.
